Super Safety Meeting on August 8, 2008

Retired Deputy Chief Tim Johnson instructed D&V field and office personnel on the different types of Fire Extinguishers, what fires they are used for, and provided hands on practice putting out a diesel fuel fire staged in the back parking lot. All D&V Fire Extinguishers are capable of extinguishing Type A (wood/paper/plastic), Type B (oil/gasoline/solvents), or Type C (electrical) fires.

Remember the word P.A.S.S.
P – PULL the pin
A – AIM the nozzle at the base of the fire
S – SQUEEZE the lever slowly
S – SWEEP from side to side
